Simply Google for "Cunda Island" or "Ayvalık" and you'll find out that "Nesos" is the ancient name for Cunda island. A haven of tranquillity and indulgences... a cornucopia full with gifts of Mother Nature. For decades, people of distinct tastes flocked to Nesos, gourmets and bon vivants alike. It was inevitable to name our product of toil and pride "Nesos", reflecting time-honoured skills of local artisans. Our genuinely handmade soaps deserve this brand, and none else!

At the very end, being able to say, "we made it!" is inspiring and delightful... tracing formulas back to their origins, avoiding controversial ingredients is an arduous effort, we have to admit... Taking time to research each and every ingredient, listening to customers and vendors, adjusting formulas again and again until we feel arrived... Making soaps that are good for you and the environment is just plain fun and gives us a way to express ourselves that is different from, say, painting or sculpting. Soap making offers unlimited opportunities to be creative, to appeal to any taste. Truly, soap is a consumable art form, and soap making is never-ending creative cycle...

Every ingredient, however miniscule in quantity, is procured from reputable suppliers and we insist on having these certified as environmentally friendly. Moreover, "Not tested on animals" label is of paramount importance for us... We limit our production to a few batches so that we can control the process. Every soap that leaves workshop - please note: not factory - carries our seal of approval for your personal satisfaction. We stick to our founders' motto: "Good things in life... they still do exist". That is the "raison d'ètre" behind our limited production. We avoid going industrial, we prefer mastering the art and science of natural, pure and artisanal soap making. "Master Soapmaker" is a title we take pride in... so far, the rid had its ups and downs, trials and errors, as in any other endeavour... they are facts of life, we do not take them for granted and do not deviate from the path of past masters of the art and the trade...
